Our new single, written about our hometown of North Camp.Â
Recorded between East London and its eponymous village, the track is a funky, absurd, and aggressive rant about the forgotten and left behind outskirts of the commuter belt in which we grew up. North Camp's core component, its relentless slap bassline, was written by bassist James Down, and the rest of the track was constructed collaboratively.
The cover art features Fred Morris (vocalist) on 1 August 2021, moments after a car crash which cost him his first car, a Peugeot 308. It was not his fault.
The first 7 tracks were recorded in a loft with cheap microphones in 2022 and mixed on a dining room table.
The final 3 tracks were recorded at Fruit Bat Studios in 2020, just before the first lockdown.
The cover art, skillfully imagined by Arianne Hill (@adakias), depicts us as whimsical warrior characters in the imagined world of the narrator in Stick Swords and Pinecone Hand Grenades.
